2009 Honda Fit

2009 Honda Fit Pictures
Honda launched an all-new Fit in 2008 for the 2009 model year and beyond. The new Fit builds on the last-generation's sporty nature and high efficiency, but grows in virtually every dimension.

For 2009, Honda has stretched the Fit's wheelbase by 2 inches and moved the A-pillars forward by about 5 inches, adding to the car's interior space. The Fit's track has also grown by 2 inches. The added space allows for "Ultra Seats," which can be moved into four different configurations -- including Refresh mode which turns the Fit's interior into a bed.

Here's about 2009 Honda Fit

The Fit Sport has fast looks and slick style. From the rear roofline spoiler to its aero-zealous face and fog lights, this swift metro acrobat rocks 16-inch alloy wheels. In addition to the 2008 color line-up, the Fit Sport comes in three new colors: Orange Revolution Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Blue Sensation Pearl.

The Fit Sport shows off with its uptown interior— supportive seats, easy-to-read gauges that illuminate ambient blue at night, 10 beverage holders, an iPod†– compatible USB Audio Interface** and an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with voice recognition* for urban tracking.

Ample Roominess Facilitator!
The 2nd-row Magic Seat® lies flat revealing more space, and a secret box for hidden storage. Go ahead and stuff it, with 57.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down. Configure your Fit in three different modes to give friends, pets and cargo the space they need.

The Fit has a 117-hp, 1.5-liter, 16-valve, i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine for quicker acceleration. And with dynamic i-VTEC technology, power and torque are boosted at any engine speed.

Metro Dynamo!
A revised suspension makes it quick on the draw with shockingly sporty handling. Equipped with Formula One™–inspired steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system, the Fit runs on controlled power delivery and smooth acceleration.

Six Airbags
The Fit has standard front, front side and side curtain airbags

Crush zones
Along with energy-absorbing crush zones, the new high-rigidity ACE™ body structure helps keep occupants protected.

Honda Safety
The Fit even has an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and active front head restraints, while the Fit Sport with Navigation adds Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with traction control—just a few more examples of how Honda takes a comprehensive approach to vehicle safety.
Honda’s Safety Philosophy
Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone - not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for other vehicle occupants and injury mitigation for pedestrians. Using the knowledge gained from going beyond government regulations to study real-world situations, Honda identifies new technologies that ultimately help to provide safer vehicles on roadways for everyone.

The Fit is Low Emissions!
It’s enormously fun-to-drive and small on emissions at the same time. An Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2)* rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) says a lot about this little go-getter.

Super Efficient Engine!
Its 117-hp 1.5-liter, 16-valve, SOHC i-VTEC® engine, along with the Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system, provides remarkable fuel economy. In fact, the base Fit with automatic transmission achieves 28 city/35 highway mpg†. And all Fit vehicles run on regular unleaded gas.

Master of Configuration!
Power-packed with capability and ready for almost anything. Driving your friends or hauling who knows what. The Fit’s multi-limber interior changes with you.
Go Tall Mode!
Flip up the Magic Seat® and presto! You’ll have over four feet of space from floor to ceiling—reserved for non-human cargo only.
Go Long Mode!
For ridiculously linear objects, fold the front passenger seat down and half the rear seat too. Anything up to 7'9" will be allowed to ride.
Go Utility Mode!
Ditch the delivery truck. With 57.3 cubic feet of smooth flat space, you can haul your own stuff. Just lay the Magic Seat® flat and your bulky or oblong trinkets fit right in. A low floor and huge rear hatch make loading up a snap.
